More STI Info
Just to heat this debate up some I have attached the following link that details the signifigant improvments to the US version of the 2005 STI. Keep in mind that it can be bought today for $31,000! Thanks everyone for the input, I will try to be patient.http://www.imprezawrxsti.com/postnuk...ewtopic&t=9784

here is food for thought i have two friends with the WRX stage 4 modded. They are running on the stock tranny, stock clutch with over 20000 miles on it. about 15000 miles with the stage 4 . NO problems what so ever. Food for thought

I sat in an '05 STi today (the dealer wouldn't let me drive either of the two '05s they had). The interior is quite civilized...nice stereo and dual cup-holders and, well, it's much improved both functionally and aesthetically. One thing I absolutely hated about it are the seats -- they're like Barcaloungers compared to the Recaros in the Evo (I could move laterally like 3 inches bolster to bolster!) I was able to drive an '04 STi (I know, it's a bit different) and one thing that I absolutely despised, but imagine I could get used to (i.e., learn to ignore) is the damned hood scoop. At first, it was like driving around with a flyer under your windsheild wiper...couldn't ignore it, especially when it starts vibrating on bumpy roads! :-)
IMO, the Evo (driven an '03 and an '04) fits me better from a driver positioning standpoint. I don't recall feeling that one was notably faster than the other, but the Evo definitely feels bigger inside and has a more spartan interior.
Damn these decisions!

After looking at the specs and photos posted of the interior of the MR, I am not very impressed. I am disapointed with Mitsu about this. They refuse to send to America the "Good Stuff" and there does not appear to be much difference between the EVO 8 and MR.
- Considering that dealers are discounting the STI - I am going to buy the STI and get my deposit back on the MR. My deposit is to buy the MR at MSRP - which is not a bargin by any means.

I agree. The MR is absolute Sh*t now. Way to go Mitsubishi. Now I know that this is a Subarau forum so congrats for you. I may get myself a 2005 sti now. Mitsubishi crawl under a rock and hope that it falls on top of you.
