brakes

I may be in the wrong section to ask this question but, Is anyone else having problems with there brakes making a screching noise when you come to a slow stop or stop in general? I don't slam on my brakes or anything I just am not sure if I should go to the dealership with this problem?

They're high performance brakes. They make noise and dust. The dealer won't do anything for you. I found that flogging the car around a road course cured all the noise issues I was having with the stock pads.

my stock brakes did not squeal at all, under any conditions. If you're stock and you haven't tracked the car, take it to the dealer.

If the car is new it is normal for the brakes to do this...
they tend to stop making noise around the 3-4000 mile mark

I just finished coming from the dealer on this very exact issue. I have 4200 miles on my car and the squeeking gets on my nerves. It only happens sometimes but is nerve-racking. The dealer, as someone already mentioned, didn't do anything but wash my car. He mentioned that that was the normal wear of the brake pads. I'll probably get new pads later on cause it seems the noise is from the pads and rotor interaction.

Sucks..

High performance brakes will make a bit more noise than your average pad. Also, brake squeal is mostly caused by the pad vibrating on the caliper. Sometimes a little anti squeal spread on the backside of the pad will help reduce the problem
