pull off the temp control knobs. Behind them there are screws. unscrew those, and pull of the panel. You'll find more screws holding the radio on. Take those off and pull out the radio, unhook the harness and that's it. One of the easiest cars I've ever done...

yes, the knobs will pull off easily. But yank hard on the grey panel. A little harder than I thought.
I have an Alpine unit in and was able to use the same ends off of the factory unit. So dont waste the money on an adapter kit. You may not need it. I wrote the pinout somewhere. do you need it? pm me if you do. I do my own electrical work and didnt purchase an adapter harness.

is it full din sized or smaller? If it's full din sized, then you can buy the mitsu radio relocate kit and put it down in the opening below the climate comtrols. I put my radio down there because I have gauges, but you could put the EQ down there:

You can get a radio relocation kit that will let you mount the EQ in the little cubby below the Temp Knobs.

here is two options for you to mount the eq: Found the part #'s on another thread for you then linked to mitsubishiparts.net
MZ598263EX - CD Changer Install kit (converts lower tray to DIN panel, comes with rails to accomodate stock radio)
MR626799 - Lower DIN panel (same panel as above, but no rails ... much cheaper and works with aftermarket radios)

what I did, and you can see part of it in the pic above, is I bought a Sony cassette/xm head unit and a sony 10-disc cd changer that also reads mp3s:

In other words, I have 10 full discs of mp3's on hand in my car, and the average car thief only sees the "average" looking cassette head unit. Plus the changer's only like $150. As far as functionality vs. price, it's right up there with the Evo
