AMS Performance Evoltion 10 V-Band Turbo Kit – Now Available
After almost 2 years of extensive research, design and thorough testing, the long-awaited AMS Mitsubishi Evolution X V-Band Turbo Kit is finally here! This indeed is the very same turbo kit found on the AMS Unlimited Class TA/X and Gates311 Time Attack EVO X – both of which brought home the championship trophies in the unlimited and modified class of the Redline Time Attack Series in 2009.
Quick spooling and massive power . . . the best of both worlds
The AMS V-band turbo kit for the EVO X is the most advanced and race-proven kit on the market. By incorporating the latest billet wheel and V-band technology into our AMS spec turbochargers, we were able to create more power with less spool time. Our turbocharger is fitted with a larger, lightweight billet aluminum compressor wheel and a ceramic ball-bearing center section. This design not only spools quicker than the competition, it compresses more air efficiently while producing less heat. In addition, our ball-bearing center sections are more durable, produce less friction and do not require coolant like traditional bearings. And unlike flanged turbochargers, our V-Band turbochargers weigh less and flow better – further reducing spool time. The end result is an extremely reliable AMS spec turbocharger that produces an unmatched level of horsepower in less time.
We added safety and reliability features for the total package
Safety and reliability is a facet of quality that many manufacturers claim to offer, but these qualities often take a backseat to performance. At AMS, our goal has always been to provide our customers with the total package, so we invested our time into designing the first cast tubular V-band exhaust manifold for our turbo kit. Unlike hand-fabricated manifolds, our stronger tubular cast manifold is not prone to cracking, yet provides improved exhaust flow in the tightly confined area between the EVO X’s engine and firewall. In addition, a comprehensive heat shield was designed to shroud the turbo/manifold assembly for added engine bay protection against heat and fire damage.
