Don't think it needs much more than a 50 trim or 30r and it would rip...even more than now!

Thanks everyone

General tech-

3071 and stock cam on stock displacement got us 141whp. The cam in there we are currently renaming the S2, the S3 is going to go in and make some more. On this bike back to back the S2 was worth 15whp over stock on a 14B Mitsu turbo. Going back to a 3071 might be interesting since 121-122whp on the 734 with the stock cam grew to 136+ with the S2. The 54mm TB, ported head, and new cam are going to get tested before we go back up turbo size though.

What is limiting you on a given turbo in this setup? 130HP is NOTHING for a gt2860.

Seems like you could drop down to like a GT1548 and have no trouble making that power but with better response and a fatter torque curve?

Or is better response not really desirable on something like this and you want a boost curve that linearly builds with RPM?

When you're cramming air from a turbo into a single cylinder compared to 4 cylinders, the boost pressure rises a lot faster with less airflow since the air compresses faster due to less space to occupy. So if you put a smaller turbo on it, it would do the same thing and make less power.

Shaft speed, quads play with the rule of 3's as I like to call it (Luke says its the rule of 2.5's but 3 is easier). Spools 3x faster than it should for its displacement, makes a third power. The 1548 maxed out at 67-68whp but it was SNAPPY. Then came the Ebay T25 and the SR20 T28, then the 2860, some hybrids, the 14B, the 16G, the 3071.

Now its bigger motors and cams that work with the smallest turbo that gives us what we want powerwise and also powerband/response.

Help a newbie out - if I wanted to do one of these, what year and model bike should I be looking for?

2006 will work but I think the rod isnt as strong? Not sure maybe its just the case studs. Then again that might be a 660 thing.
