most dealerships will let you put 500-1000k down and usually will make you sign an agreement if they order the car, that you are going to buy it. This is what I did when I ordered my car since I specifically wanted a silver with no sunroof and there wasn't any available at the time, so they ordered one and I had to wait for 2 months for it to arrive from Japan. Some might even just go by a verbal agreement, but that means that they can alter the deal at any time, so if you do come to terms way ahead of time, make sure it's in writing.

Yeah, I would love to see anything you guys drag up on the EVO 9. I have plans on ordering a new EVO when I get back home, but since I'm currently stuck in Iraq, its difficult to find info. Mitsu never updates their website quick enough, so I would like to know a price range for the new car. I'm going to be putting a good deal down on mine, but I want to plan ahead.

$32- 33K isn't bad when you look at how much MR's are going for in my area. I was looking at over $36K already, and I'm probably going to be putting around $20K down, so it shouldn't be too bad. I just want to know what kind of payments I'm going to be looking at, then I'll know how much I can save for aftermarket goodies....

the more that our 9 is like the JDM version, the more expensive it will be. But who knows until MMUSA releases the info on what we get. I would easily pay 40k for a true JDM spec evo, left hand drive of course!

Well, without Super AYC the price can't get too out of control. It still has to compete with the STI. But I agree, if I could swing the money, $40K would be just fine with me for the JDM Spec car.

Most dealers are more than willing to put you on the list for $1,000.
I always call the shots now - I gave only $500 down and demanded everything in written confirmation on buyers order eg:
silver 06 Evo for MSRP less $500, no dealer fee.
PS: Go straight to a sales manager
