The reason that the car is there in the first place is because the Japanese value practicality. Cars are very expensive to drive over there, so many familys only have one car. Thats why they have high performance 4 door cars in the first place. I had a del sol the last time I went to japan and I looked for others there. I only saw like 4 my entire 2 week trip there. I'm surprised the MR2 lasted over there. Basically, if it cant haul the rest of the family plus stuff, its not worth having to most japanese families. Enter the wagon. Its an even more practical version of the EVO. Could very well Justify the cost of the EVO to the missus. Hence, more sales.

Oh Ya Baby!!!
I have a Del Sol that I bought right out of school but it's getting old and it's a pain to have only one car that fits the family so I got a Ralliart Sportback this year and I love it. It's got room for the wife and my son even on a driving vacation and it's fun to drive.
If I could get the Evo version I'd be all over that bad boy.
But I don't think they will after the Sportbacks bad sales. So I'll just have to see what goodies come out that I can get for mine. I like the rear wing. In some of the earlier art they showed a short touring style one. Either of those would be cool.
Maybe some nice large scale toys or other goodies.
Cool, I can't wait.

If the performance difference between the sedan and the wagon is not all that different, I'd get one. Besides the additional weight, I'd be sweet to see a wagon take on mustangs and camaros.
