Lancer Evolution IX, SE, 9.5 Editions: Photos, News, Reviews, etc...[MERGED]

I was planning on getting a GTR in a few years, but IMHO, after seeing the new pics, it just looks like a beefed up G35. And if I wanted that I would have got one in the first place. Not that the G35 is ugly or anything, just not what I want. But I really like the changes they made for the new evo, and if they keep this up I might just pick up another evo. So good job mitsu.

Great video, just wish they didnt talk so damn much.
Really looks like a nice piece of hardware and the specs look good. I hope they keep the rest of the formula as attractive (low price + high performance = great product).
Two things I would love to see:
1) make the hood vent bigger
2) don't paint the rear spoiler. Leave the CF exposed through out instead of painting the struts to match the body color.
My big question is how will this play w/ the coming union of the Dodge Neon and the Lancer? I've read many things about Dodge retiring the Neon platform and doing a joint venture w/ Mit to build a new econobox (won't be called a Neon). They (Dodge) apparently plan to use the EVO as a platform for an SRT-4 replacement. Meaning they want to build a turbo charged AWD beast. Biggest difference will be that Dodge plans to use their own engine. I don't know how Dodge's 4cyl compares to the 4g63 (and this probably isnt the place to get an unbiased opinion).
Anyway, business wise I think this is good news because it will mean that the EVO will continue to be produced. The Eclipse was very successful using this formula.

n/m i just watched the video...the rear looks cool...i wonder how MMNA plans to get that rear to pass for the US...
haha tie fighter...thats awesome it did sound like it with the tires screeching like that. If you watch the video closely the car gets a small 3 wheel motion going on one of the turns.

Man, I'm so torn now. I was in the process of trading in my '03 for a graphite MR, but now I dunno. I'm most interested in seeing if we're gonna get the AYC system. If the 9 does come with it, that would clinch it for me. Every driver in Japan raves about that system. I'd also like to see definitive horsepower and price numbers. Oh and the front owns *** now that they finally got rid of that horrible front triangle thing. I don't really care about the Gialla style ports, and the back is cool.

What a great car but what a crappy country to sell it in. Mitsubishi service is garbage in USA and bringing another car like this is just sad. Ppl will have Mitsu even more.
