One Year IX release...

Has anyone else besides me thought about the fact that the IX will be apparently relased for one year? I find that a little troubling on the part of production. We are the last to get the IX's (i think we are.....anyone?) and if the X is released next year do you think Mitsu might consider the IX as a special edition of sorts? I'm just nervous about securing a CT9A in my garage. lol

I have, and it doesn't bother me. I bet the X will be a mid-year release, 15+months after the IX gets here. Overall U.S. demand for the IX is hard to predict right now. I know I want one, but we don't know much about the X yet, for which many people will wait. A lot of enthusiasts probably prefer a IX over a X because the IX's performance capabilities are known and a possible downside of the X is that it will share its engine and platform with other cars, making it less exclusive. OTOH, once the specs. and real-world performance of the X are published, the IX could see reduced demand and they'll be sitting on dealer lots, which is good if you want one.

I hope so, but who knows if that will actually effect the price. I was at a few dealerships this past weekend and all of them are still trying to sell VIII's above MSRP. Im sure thats prolly why they are still sitting on the lot, but seems most mitsu dealers dont care about selling evo's at competitive rates. was odd to talk to a salesman that seeminly had zero interest in actually selling the damn car. Guy didnt want to budge from 35k for an 8 that was obviously test driven a bit.

I will own the Evo 9 MR for sure and wait to see what the X looks like. One can never have enough Evo's in the garage!

Do you think that the 9 will be able to hadndle aftermarket as well as the 8, due to the MiVEC turbo Engine in it, isn't that supposed to be harder to upgrade? not sure could someone clear this up for me

Haha so I guess I'm the only one with this concern then. I'm one of those that wants the EvoIX over the X because of known specs. I also like the fact that the 4G63 has been used in every evo since the beginning so it's down to heritage for me. I'm just paranoid I, with my luck, won't be able to get one.

I'm also worried about the price of the X. May be too high of a range for me also.
