I am thinking mivec is somewhat comparable to vtec. I know more about hondas then mitsu's. So i know that its easier to tune a h23 (nonvtec) motor then a h22 (vtec). But once the h22 is tuned it produces greater outputs. The heads are also interchangeable so i wonder if the mivec head will be able to do that also. hmmm we shall see, havent some nonstate side people already gotten the ix? Why dont they inform us shooot.

too be honest, if I were to pick up the 9 I would get paint job and make it like a dark maroon color with some red and silver metallic chips in there. I don't really dig that red they have and most of the colors they come out with is too plain. Just a thought.

I heard that Mitsu's GDI was still in development a few years ago and is in some cars (don't ask me I don't know) somewhere in the world. My guess is that they are using a modified version of VW's. Never know. ::shrugs::
IIRC, sells more GDI engines than anyone else does. They've been selling a whole range of GDI engines in most or all or their Japanese market models, starting in 1996. This has all been discussed before.

I was told by my dealer here in NM they had no info on the ix yet, and they weren't sure when they were going to start taking deposits.

GDI has been around since 1997. Direct injection improves milage and lower exhaust gas temp. The lower temps usually allow higher boost to be dialed in. Check out this old URL: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/i...hnology/GDIEC/. Google "mitsubishi GDI" and you will see alot of URL's.

The 2006 MazdaSpeed 6 and BMW M5 will have GDI.

Same here, I am in Iowa. I call them every week. He said the order sheet will be made available in Sept and that I can place an order at MSRP. He thinks the GG MR will be available in the first batch. 8-12 weeks for delivery. I really hope so

I actually think it will handle aftermarket mods even better! but not for a while. It's all in the tuning and i think the tuners will have to get used to and understand mivec before it becomes better, so it might take a while.
