Ok Tom a lot more respectable. I kind know when most dealers are coming from.
#1 the don't want you to wait too long then buy an STI
#2 they want to earn your business.
Working with Mitsubishi for 3 years I've seen a steady trend with is company. They usually never deliver the promises on time.
Example:
2006 Eclipse
Repoted Release date June 9
Actual release date May 27.
First recall date May 28
Recall Release date May 29
New release date June 9
Cars actually arrive at all the dealerships June 12
New recall June 15
Every dealership had only 1 to 2 car on the lot for a whole month.
Actual date cars were available for every (to be determnined...)
I have two Eclipse on my lot right now and both will be sold this weekend. My next Eclipse will not be in for 1 month.
That is why I'm saying December the Evo might be available to everyone.

Shouldn't be shooting for a Fall not Winter release for the IX to match up with every other car company's 2006 model line roll out? I don't understand what the holdup could possibly be. The Eclipse had issues because it is a brand new car with brand new car issues. The IX (as has been well stated on these boards) is only minimal changes from the VIII, and the one significant change (Mivec) is already in use by other models so they already have some experience under their belt on the technology involved. VIII inventory also seems to be dwindling fast out there, especially with the 0% offer, we've seen how many new Evo owners saying hello on these boards in the past few days?
Hurry it up , you have lots of people waiting to give you money...

In my opinon Mivec is just another way to keep customers from modding the s**t out of there cars, then try and claim something under warranty when it goes wrong. (Reminder of the 5000 RPM rev limiter. )
True the Mivec does give more power and torque, but the same thing can be done with a few simple mods.
