. I don't think it will have any extra though because the torque is still the same, 400Nm or whatever the JDM MR has. I think with the optional magnesium turbo (new for the IX) it makes about 410Nm.

this is what i got out of the video
1. this will be the first time that japan will export the evolution to europe (i hope they like it)
2. speed is the most important when making the 9
3. its 4 seconds faster than last years evo 8 run
4. the 9 has a wider base than the 8, and its easier to drive
5. the japanese are calling the evo 9 - "evo-kyu" or sounded for americans "evo-q" meaning evo 9. kyu = 9
i like the sounds of the upcoming evo Q

Sorry, I meant JDM models, because that is what the IX specs are for, being a Best Motoring (Japanese) video. All the cars from the V (maybe IV) to the VIII have more than the advertised 280ps, probably around 300hp (at least for the VIII).
The IX will have 410Nm with the magnesium turbo. This turbo only comes with the RS and GT models though and it is optional on the GSR. So the GSR without the optional turbo will have about 400Nm like the VIII MR in Japan does now and like the video says.

Oh and I forgot to talk about the MIVEC. I think it can help with low down torque because it lets the car run two different camshafts one for low down torque AND one for high up power. The "normal" camshaft can be tuned for a bit more low down torque because then the performance camshaft takes care of the high rpm power. With just the one camshaft it would have to be a compromise.

Don't get your hopes up
First off, no that is not a Navigation screen in the center of the dash, Yes it does have a double DIN, Yes the UK does have the option of smartNav on the FQ packages, but remember we don't have that option yet and the way most of you complain about the price and the various options who is to say that the US will get the double DIN, after all the Straight 8's in the UK and Japan have the double DIN and the Auto Climate.
I did notice the IC sprayer switch is there, but cause of US Packaging, Bigger fuel tank, the US still won't get the IC Sprayer, unlike the 03's & 04's that did have it.
Now if you remember the MR's initial photo's all had the Black Momo Steering wheels, Carbon dash trim, the narrow (real) recaro's, the headlights, the taillights so on and so on. Just keep hoping that we will get an iteration of an evo that closely matches the rest of the world.
I am not going to hold judgement until I see an actual IX in person and what the available options will be. just be prepared to shell out the same amount as the MR Edition.

Good video, BM is great, driver is great. I think he drove the jdm wrc puma car in the evo strikes back video. I have a collection of BM and hot version dvds, but lately I havent been able to get any new releases. Im still anxious to see the specs of the US version. I hope they bring the IX over with the diffusers and AYC. The mivec engine will be interesting, but I think I will wait for some solid reviews and reliability before buying the car during the first year of release.
