It doesn't seem to make financial sense to bring the "X" so soon afterwards.

I don't think I agree. Correct me if I'm wrong by the MIVEC head has already been R&D'd for the 4G63 so its not costing them anything to install them the USDM models (other than the cost of the parts which dealers will absorb on the invoice) Everything we're getting in the US has been in Japan now for awhile and the rest of the car remains largely unchanged so there really is very little additional expense (risk) involved.

I'll take it - how many miles?

We really need a date on this Evo 9 because I am a week away from buying the grey MR at my local dealer. But I can wait (continue driving cooper s) if I knew when the 9 will hit these shores.

Does anybody know how much faster the Evo 9 is supposed to be? Sorry im in a huge rush right now so i didnt have a long time to look through everything. So if it was mentioned already im very sorry.

Every Evolution has had an ~18 month lifespan. The 8 seems to be running closer to two full years, the 9 gets a bit shortened. The 9 isn't that substantially different from the 8, either.

Less drop off towards redline is a possibility, but I'd guess that you'll see a much flatter torque curve and a see the engine get into boost earlier. Same peak number but still a faster setup.

Though I'd find it odd that they wouldn't up the peak for the magazine racers and dumb Americans.
