Why no AYC? Why is Mitsu doing this? Can anyone think of one good reason for it's ommission? Frankly, I'm dumbfounded. And why don't all the Evo's have the six speed? It just doesn't make any sense.

SAYC makes the gas tank REALLY tiny. like 9 gals i think? which is prolly not what Mitsu wanted for long american roads as opposed to shorter travel distances in Japan. it might deter some Americans from buying the car. that's my guess anyway

Oh well, looks like people should just go out and find any brand new 2005 MR or RS and stick with that car. I must admit I am a little bias since I own a 2005 MR. But I was expecting there to be a little more jump in performance, kind of how everyone was expecting to be more in the 2005 from the 2004.

Seriously, I would trade in my 05 MR if I could get S-AYC.

did any of you even read the japanese release of the IX. I'm not sure what all of you were expecting, but you need to realize that you can't just look at numbers and say, it isn't enough jump in performance. Its a slow EVOLUTION of the car, most of the improvements between the old evos came with each new chasis and when they started adding the electronic stuff. The Evo X will mark the first MAJOR step since it is going to have a new engine.

I think the Mivec is a bigger change than some of you guys think. Sure, we did get a watered down version, but the Mivec will add more power through the rev range, and it will increase gas milage. Sounds good to me.

The powerband will be much nicer and fatter. Should get better mpg also.

It's like Vtec from Honda... but more complicated.
I'm looking forward to swaping MIVEC heads on to the EVO VIII!

Okay, I was wrong about the MIVEC not being in the E9, but I sure WASN"T wrong about Mitsu being conservative on the power gains. Any E8 can probably gets those #'s w/ just two bolt-ons. Besides, you guys are rich enough to just buy different bumpers than buying a slew of overaggressive body kits.
I saw the trend of being conservative from the 4g64 to 4g69. The numbers weren't staggering or awe-inspiring.
Well, I can probably wait till some people start saying their MIVEC is killing their warranty issues.
