US Federal mandate states that all car's built in or exported to this country must have side airbags beginning September of 2006. Evo's do not, and Mitsu decided not to invest and have to recertify for side impact standards, when the new evo is only a little over a year away. So No new evo's will be produced till the X comes.
Savy mitsu dealers ordered extra stock to try and bridge the gap in product.

is it possible to run the JDM HVAC setup on USDM cars?
or will this require a whole different wiring and electronics?
it was mentioned that it was all electrical....i take it we dont have the required motors to move the flaps.....

No.
Yes, and then some.
Correct, we don't. There's more to it then just the dash controls.

its better not too...
keep our value up... those that bought the SE will lose money.. and those who are late to buy their IX will....
but the people who got it when it first came up til up to june.. are set.. a 2006 is a 2006 doesn't matter when it was made or bought!
w00t! maybe some of us can break even when selling them.. there are 03/04 selling for 24-25 didnt most pay 28 new? 2 and 3 years later... thats crazy.. most cars will sell for that much the 2nd week after buying them.
just traded in my dads range rover for 49k its a 2004 with 65k on it.. paid 82 for it.... thats depreciation.. pos

You said it. Most people talk bad about Mitsubishi, merely because they are common cars that a lot of people have had some experience, or know people who have them. But some luxury makes are faar worse. LR is way up there, then maybe like Jaguar, and suprsingly enough Mercedes. Going from 20 to 14 on a Galant in 3 months is one thing, but going from let's say 90K to 50 on a Benz in 2 years is worse.

i dont get the point of this thread... who cares if we don't get an 07 model EVO? were you gonna buy another one if we did? lol seems like everybody on this thread that wants an EVO has already got one, or can find one. what's the point of whining about not getting something you weren't going to buy anyway?
