All of the 4B11's will have iron sleeves. I was refering to the fact that they will most likely be resleeved at some point with high quality ductile iron sleeves once cylinder pressures get very high.

Good find on that video.
That motor is similar to most contemporary motors these days.
A trend of absolute GARBAGE. Plastic valve covers, plastic intake manifolds,
light weight open decked aluminum block, light weight internals.
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE !!!
I can guarantee you that 4b11 will not sustain the abuse the
the 4G63T is capable of withstanding.
Sort of reminds me of the QR25DE used in the Nissan Sentra SpecV.

Motors like the QR25DE are the main reason why I dumped my Sentra.
Motors like the 4B11 are the reason why, I will keep my Evo VIII.
Also Changing cams ( correctly ) will now require the replacement of
those shim buckets to obtain proper clearances.
That means a trip to the dealer. I bet those wont be cheap either.
Plus good luck on your local Mitsubishi dealer having those in stock.

Did anyone mention that this is the LANCER engine and NOT the evo engine. I'm sure the evo engine, as we have seen in previous gens, will be SIGNIFICANTLY different that this pos.

I understand the theory and claims about these modern cars.
With that said I'll still take a:
1.) Nissan SR20DE over a QR25DE
2.) Toyota 22RE over a current Toyota I4
3.) Mitsubishi 4G63T over a 4B11T
All these later model vehicles are designed
for weight, fuel efficiency, emissions and SAFETY.
Thanks to CAFE standards.
As far as performance and longevity ...
They are NOT doing you a favor with all this so called light weight hi-tech BS !
How much do you think the current CT9A platform would weigh
if it was required to implement all the safety equipment that will be on the
new Evo X ? Probably about 3700 to 3800 lbs.
How much does the current CT9A weigh ? About 3350lbs.
How much will the new Evo X weigh ? About 200lbs + over the current platform.
This is with all the plastics and light weight drivetrain CRAP incorporated into the new Evo X.
Why do you think the EvoX is heavier ? Because of all the required safety equipment ... compliments of the NHTSA. THAT STUFF MAKES THE VEHICLE HEAVIER !!!
Have you noticed that some extended warranties even cover plastic manifolds
and valve covers ? Have you noticed that these parts wear out in shorter period of time than thier predessors ?

Although I don't know if it's true, I heard the Evo X 4b11 is going to be cast iron block and aluminum head like the next srt4 engine will be. I think that if Mitsubishi could have made a better 2.0 4 cylinder turbo then they would have done it a LOOONG time ago. But hopefully I'm wrong for Mitsubishi's sake.

i think this is gonna be just like the k series in the fact that everyone talked **** about it and didnt want to give up the b series. Then when ppl start building them and doing real research they saw how much better they were. I dont think after all these years mitsubishi has not came up with nething better.

The 4B11 engine was built in conjuction with Chrysler and Hyundai. Now I don't know who did what and how much, but I don't want to drive an $30+k car and knowing that I have a Hyundai motor.
