How many times do people have to remind that JDM RS is bare bone
before these knuckleheads stop posting these idiot comments?

hmm...I wouldn't be surprised if the USDM version of the X receives a whole new back bumper without the difusser...just like how the JDM had on the iX but not the US version...

anyone esle notice that the RS doesn't even have Recaro's. I guess they're thinking you'll be taking out the seats anyway and replacing with serious racing seats

Don't stess folks. Remember that when the USDM RS VIII was announced it wasn't going to have AC and it was going to have an "urban jungle" package as an option that included AC, radio, and power windows. etc. That did't happen. What we actually got was better-a street ready RS.

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that the USDM X RS will have GSR wheels, AC, and brembos.

I really hope Mitsubishi wont listen to most of you guys and bring RS model to
the US...

RS model provides a good starting car for many SCCA/NASA race series that
may have restrictions on what you can actually modify. They like the car to come
from factory as light as possible (w/o compromising performance). Cheaper sticker
price is a bonus.

With X being so porky, I'll be curious how much weight will RS save.

Like EVOVII_SWE said, all the fancy stuff is an option, this has always been the case for the Japanese RS's.

Before you buy one you get the option sheet and start ticking off any extras, you want brembos? tick the box, Recaros? tick the box.

I've seen numerous RS's with and without brembos, recaros, aircon etc.

My RS came with aircon, usually they don't but the previous owner was nice enough to tick the box, no brembos unfortunately so I had to get a set.

This is the great thing about RS's, you get to pick the stuff you will use so you don't end up paying for something you have no use for.

Why do you fuss so much about the Brembo's?
As far as I know, the EVO is 'Brembo' only for calipers.
For people that actually care only care about features of the brakes, not the name tag, such as material of the brake, size, slotted and/or cross-drilled. What you should look for is how the brake performs, like heat capacity and fade (if it has any), durability and strength, weight, cost, as well as stopping power etc.
Last thing I could care when considering brakes for my cars would be whether they have 'Brembo', 'Wilwood' or 'StopTech' printed on them and if they come in nice shiny red or yellow paint. Sure, those companies make wonderful parts for brakes, and I'd love to have the parts from them, only after I chose the specs for my needs, not the other way round.

Same goes for Recaro seats. Unless what I'm getting is an SP-G or an SP-A (*drool*), I'd rather have a no name racing bucket seat that holds well, protective, durable and light, than fancy padded folding seats that adds weight and need to pay more.

One great example was the Brembo hype on 350z. Track trim had the Brembo's while the others didn't. It was just the calipers, with tiny bit larger rotors from the factory which isn't a Brembo. It turned out that they stop about the same and fade about the same, but some people still made a big deal out of it when purchasing anyways.
