Where talking about the platform itself.. the 4B11 has Mivec on both sides as well as a better drivetrain and look at it.. its fast on mitsu's proving grounds but if the 4G63 where to be enhanced with the mivec on the exhaust side and have that new drivetrain to put its power down am sure it had more left in it..

Now I guess this would take more R&D and since mitsu is BROKE.. I guess they decided to spend what ever they have left on this new AWD system which is "unique" that they decided to share the cost, and development and let others take part in this new 4B11 in order to produce the X..

Of course its no big deal in America as I said b4 the vast majority Drag race this in AMERICA ONLY.. I've been around too many EVO meets across the globe buddy and when I see most caring about their 1/4 mile its says something about the way Americans look at the EVO. Yes they are a few who circuit race, auto-x even rally it and still drag it.. who know the evo is an all-around car and didn't just buy it for its acceleration.. like all this brand new owners who know nothing about an EVO till it hit American shores..

And you my friend are the one who is making BARF as you mentioned an LS7 we don't need that ****.. The replacement for displacement is measured in psi.. and when you add any forced induction system into a high displacement motor means its sucks and it gives up..

They will never get it . You have to be grown up with rally or road race, to appreciate this type of cars. Seems to me most of them really can't handle the fact, the evo is not a drag race car. Some got good numbers for drag race with good resullts ,wich is pruve the Evo have a great engine. But its is killing the real purpose of the car. And why is got so famous around the world. King of the real life driving situations.
Where most super sport cars nervous ,the evo is comfident.
Raining, bumpy road ,twisties, dirty , snowy , changing surface etc. no problem!
that is the evo purpouse.Drive it no matter what is coming. But some guys think the good engeneered car going fast in 1/4 and thats it.

That is, i think one reason + nascar, why the american sports car are way behind other countries sport cars. It is no need to turn or slow down of most of them ,so they dont bother. You never wonder, why is not racing an evo or sti in the american circuit, against american sport cars on speed chanel, but the mazda ,acura etc. does? Regulations wich allows 7 liter agains 2 liter, but nothing wich is let those cars in....

and nope, just truly disappointed. I honest to god would not trade my VIII for a X. I'm not going to say its a horrible car or anything, its probally fun to drive but its not for me. Yes the evo has become more refined with each generation but this seems like a larger step. One that I'm not willing to take.

 

Coming from an IX owner who will never own another Mitsubishi even if the X did look somewhat decent, I think that car looks like pure ***.

Especially since Mitsu hyped their new target market to be those who want a softer ride, BETTER LOOKING, amenity-full performance car. I.e. they're trying to attack nissan and cars of the like but with ***** to the wall performance. With all that said I think they've successfully failed.

Mitsu couldn't use the 4G63 anymore due to not meeting emmission regulations.
This is the reason they changed it not because, oh heck lets just get rid of that great motor we used for 15 years for no reason....
