I doubt mitsi would go to all the work to make an LHD EVO for just one model. It would make sense for them to at least continue for the length of the current chassis production until they change to a new chassis (ie EVO 13 or something)

Anyway, who cares, you American's don't deserve EVO's anyway, they are selling just fine in Japan and New Zealand

Subie guys will say that the EJ25 can run 500+hp on the stock block and stock internals "reliably", the question is just "how long" With the 4G63 that's just scratching the surface. Iron block for the win.

I was talking with the owner of the Mitsu dealer I bought my X from yesterday (thursday the 4th of Sept) he happens to be my neighbor. He says mitsu is informing its owners that the EVO X will probably be the last EVO sold in the US. To replace it mitsu plans to release a 5th gen eclipse in 2011. The eclipse will be a throw back to the 2g models and will offer the gst and gsx package.

Who knows what will be true in 3 years but this is the mitsu propaganda for now.

mitsu never actually developed the 4b11, they bought it from Hyundai, so they "modified" it

Hrm. In my experienve, rarely does product direction info obtained from dealerships have any bearing on the actual reality.

Aside from that, they might finally be able to get that awful 3G Eclipse-taste out of the mouths of Mitsu-fans, the slight disappointment of the stylish but overweight 4G, and finally get it right by once again offering original formula, a 2 door coupe with small displacement, high output AWD goodness.

correct

This is the future, some of us will be dissapointed:

The Mitsubishi Concept-Sportback previews the next Lancer and, by extension, the Evo X. Both the five-door concept and the upcoming production cars use a new platform that has been co-developed with Chrysler. By showing the concept as a hatchback (a bodystyle that continues to be popular in Europe), the company is hinting that the Evo X may be offered as a hatchback as well as a traditional sedan--though probably not in the U.S. market.

not a big fan of the rear end but overall it's not a bad looking concept.
