now tell me if a 2010 Evo X SE by fall of 2010 makes any sense at all...

Not only it doesn't make sense to roll at 2010 model when all the 2011 models are coming out, but also the whole package is overall stupid as heck

just because the 2011s are being released for other Mitsu cars doesn't mean anything.... and the SEs... if they do exist have probably been built on or around the time the 2010s were being built. Just because they have them doesn't mean they all have to be released at one time.... Its called MARKETING

GET MORE MONEY UP FRONT FOR THE GSR/MR...release the MR-T, and finally the SE

Id love to see what an EVO X SE would look like. My IX SE looks just like an MR with red stitching. I honestly think those with all the variants of the X, Mitsu doesn't have anything up their sleeve.

what the hell did you just say lol

anyways, yeah I was talking to my friend, manager at our local dealer and he confirmed there's a 2011 "Special Edition" coming in about 3 months, slotted between GSR and MR, and about 35-36k...

that's all I know

I still believe is a dumb move imo, based on the information on this thread... I wasnt told what the Special Edition will bring from my friend, only that it is coming for their 2011 Lancer Evolution release as some kind of "affordable" MR

Mitsu has it in their power to release a more commercially viable X, starting with the SE:

MR suspension, brakes, and wheels
5-speed
More aggressive tune
Nominal weight reduction: glazing, carpets, trim, electronics - essentially whatever they can delete or slightly modify to shed a few pounds. It doesn't have to a be a lot of weight, just something to distinguish the model.

If this car hits the press fleet and generates test numbers similar to the IX - and that's entirely possible with an alternate, albeit still mild, tune - I think the entire range would sell better.

Might as well drop the 4cylinder, and stick a v-6 twin turbo, since the car is no longer in WRC, and the subaru sti is not really a concern anymore. It looks like they are going after the german manufacturers

No matter what, it's a decent marketing strategy-- keep new models coming out between model refreshes/ overhauls.

Love the pic next to Gates' X. Makes me appreciate just how mean his car really is.
