some of these new cars make me wanna puke. all this "greeeeeeeen" nonsense is idiotic and contradictory. cars nowadays are tuned for emissions, not mpg. yet they try to sell cars by advertising mpg. yay for double standard. i say f*** hybrids. you can get better mpg in a sports car in certain cases. and still have power when you want it. there is also the extra pollution thats caused by making these battery powered cars. yet everyone who drives one thinks they're saving the planet.

You know guys I dont think a Hybrid gas motor combo on the XI would be a bad idea. For the people that DD their Evo it would make more sense. Imagine you are stuck in traffic that would normally have you watching your fuel gauge, the car switches over to hybrid mode and you save gas! Then the traffic clears up and you punch it and the 2.0 Turbo that we all know comes to life and you get the boost feeling once again.
Besides the down side of added weight of the hybrid system, if Mitsu keeps the current gas motor it has plenty of aftermarket support that would HELP ( not solve ) offset the extra weight. I think it might turn out to be a good little car but only time will tell!!!!

you have a valid point, I never thought of it this way. but i think everyone associates hybrid with "slow". If they can make a hybrid and prove it has potential and worth then I think minds might change.

In the under $30K, my vote is the BRZ. June can't get here soon enough for them to start trickling into the dealerships.

The BRZ is a pretty cool option. Be interesting to see how long it takes them to start filling orders at a reasonable rate though considering the amount of interest that's spiked for them.

Word has it FR-S will be NA 2.0 at about 200hp and BRZ will be suby turbo at about 300hp. I thought the camaro ZL1 would be impressive but saw a track test where it pulled a high 12 &117mph trap...with 580bhp and launch control?...weak. Thats practically bolt on ct9a territory

Really? I read that Subaru will "improve the car’s air intake, add a less-restrictive exhaust, increase redline to 7,500 rpm and revise the variable valve control system for optimized performance. These modifications are expected to boost output to around 250 horsepower, a full 25-percent increase over the base model. The STI version will be lighter in weight, too, thanks to racing bucket seats, a carbon fiber hood and, potentially, even a carbon-fiber roof. Lighter wheels will be used, and the car will further benefit from upgraded brakes and a stiffer suspension for track day use."
Apparently there isn't enough room for a turbo...
