a 4th gen eclipse with the evo 9 motor, and awd tranny. would be pretty crazy if you ask me.

also, they finally made the car look half decent haha

it would definitely bring back a long lost love for the eclipse in the car scene.

 

I heard about this a long time ago, but i dont think that they are going to build this because the Eclipse generation is over.

Always wanted one and it was the main reason I owned a 4g for awhile. I was just hoping.

last i recall this peticular ralliart eclipse already out. the only thing is its lacking in the power department, considering there is no 4G63 motor in it.

 

I thought this was some venture with Road Race Engineering. Pretty old article but was hoping for it back in 04.

 

You also missed the 104.49bhp per liter, if the 4g63 is a 2.0L and making 400bhp thats 200bhp per liter.

 

There was only 2 Ralliart Eclipses built. Ever. Both of them are at the factory in Normal, IL. Neither will probably ever go for sale. One is Pure Red and the other is Solar Yellow. It was a venture between Mitsubishi, Road Race Engineering, Mullerized Suspension, and others.

It had the Evo IX drivetrain stuffed inside a 4G Eclipse body. It was an aboslutely brilliant project and it's a shame that it never came to fruition. This was the concept that could have saved the Eclipse and boosted the company in car sales. Truly an amazing machine and an epic throwback to the 2G GSX.

If you ever have time, ask Mike W @ RRE about it. He knows the most, but being a former 4G Eclipse owner, it was a sad thing to never see this be put into production.

 

never seen a 4G eclipse awd but there's at least 3 or 4 3G eclipse models out there in the world that people put an Evo 8 awd system into. From the threads that I saw it looks pretty much all "bolt on".

As for Mitsu. I agree with you guys, they definitely should have brought back the "GSX" for the 4th Gen. Eclipse..... but it seems like all they care about now are "green cars" .... the iMiev is just the stupidest thing i've ever seen on the road.

 

saw and sat in it when I was at MOD in Normal,IL a couple years ago,many were mad this was never realized into production.

 

With every right, they should be.
