Seriously... "It is alleged to be a plug-in hybrid, combining a turbocharged four-cylinder with two electric motors for a total system output of 500 horsepower. Mitsubishi’s Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) will also feature, but with the electric motors aiding traction instead of a traditional mechanical setup." Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Sounds like a high stake gambling. MMC is starving for cash and they are trying to come up with a (hybrid) supercar? If such a large investment fails, MMC may withdraw from the U.S. market once and for all.

Seems like it will have an mechanical engine output of 300hp. Then the two electric motors will both be 100 hp each.
This might be feasible but I wont believe until it arrives to the dealerships.

"Another caveat of analyzing an automaker is taking a look at whether a company is planning makeovers or complete redesigns. Every year, car companies update their cars. This is a part of normal operations, but there can be a problem when a company decides to significantly change the design of a car. These changes can cause massive delays and glitches, which result in increased costs and slower revenue growth. While a new design may pay off significantly in the long run, it's always a risky proposition. "
I'm pretty sure with Ryugo Nakao being a member of the board, Evo XI will eventually come out if they want it. But we may have to wait many years before it happens.

I've seen this claim made by other auto news sources but haven't managed to see a source of the claim. I wouldn't be quick to rubbish this claim, the GTR has been a great success and it has been largely unchallenged in its market. Now Honda are bringing the new NSX to the table, I don't think entering this market is as much of a gamble as most would think.
The use of a hybrid system is in line with the Porsche 918 and the LaFerrari, maybe Mitsi see this technology catching on. If it does then Mitsi will be ahead of the game when it does. I wonder how tunability will be affected (anyone got any knowledge?) seeing as the GTR is quite tunable.
I look forward to seeing it and am interested to see Mitsi's supercar building capabilities. I just hope they don't leave the current Lancer Evolution slot empty. A promotion for the Lancer RalliArt maybe?
