first off...despite what mitsu says the MR gray as a special edition color.....it's not. Mitsu is using the same color on the regular lancer in place of thunder gray. The paint code is A39 and is called (one name anyway)"graphite gray pearl" But, you can only get this color as an MR in the evo line-up like previously stated. I am just telling everyone the MR is not the only car using this color.

i just heard from my dealer. he said mitsu told him my MR is scheduled for production next week sometime! the estimated ship date for my car is september 10, but that date may be moved up or pushed back (a little) if and when mitsu announces an official "release date". not long now...

Called that guy off the first page (Garrick from NY) about his deposit and MSRP at his stealership... he said that he is now charging $2000.00 over MSRP because, "people from the streets are coming in and now that he's got a few spots he mind as well make some money." And that "someone from California wanted to buy one from him, etc.."
Just a heads up. As of today he said he cannot quote an MSRP price. They are not available until probably the end of this month.

Street Legal
I would probably go the Import route, to get an MR whether it is street legal or not. I have been looking into it myself, and it looks more appealing.
At least you would get an official MR with all the bells and whistles, non of this watered down crap that Mitsu USA is trying to pawn off on everyone here.
But the question arises then on whether you would get any kind of warranty.
Not to mention if you had to have work done to the ACD and SAYC none of the techs would know much about it.
Not that many of them can be trusted anyway, from some of the stories I have heard when they service regular USDM Evo's
