I think thats better... like someone said before... built in launch control.
All of the '05 Evo's get the new turbocharger this year. So they all get the bump in power.

Did you happen to see if the US-spec MR has the same metal BOV (rather than the plastic one on the 03s and 04s) as the Euro-spec MR? This has implications for "backdating" an 03 or 04 to the 05 spec BOV for SCCA autocrossing events. Thanks.

Hey Neil.... sooo really is the 5 grand limiter a really horrible thing... I mean it can't be too healthy to be launching your car at 6 grand all the time but will the the limiter make it extremely hard for MR drivers to be quick out of the box. I am awaiting a grey 05 and I am just vary curious...

And as far as the exhaust note goes.... I will just replace it with a greddy cat back and also I will reflash my ECU and see what happens.

It cuts out over 5K, just like you rev limiter does when you are driving and you hit the limiter, it's just that you are not moving.

do you think the MR would have hit 12's without the 5k rev limiter?

So it cuts off at 5k or it bounces off the 5k rpm?

after reading the article, i can't imagine an objective reader on the market even considering the MR. it just seems so negative towards the MR... and makes the STi seem so great and happy. not saying this is wrong in anyway, since i haven't driven either car, but if i were a blank minded individual, there's no way i'd consider the MR.

I Understand that... I was asking that when you are at a complete stand still and you rev to 5 grand for a launch... if you dump the clutch the car bogs?? So no decent drag race launches for MR owners?

Awaiting Graphite Grey MR

WIth only 1000 MRs reported to be coming over and the price estimated to be higher, and no cruise control on the MR, I think Subaru will be very pleased to hand this out to potential STi customers.
