Question Question re: '05 Evolution Model Line

I bought the October editions of Car and Driver and MotorTrend and saw the write-up about the '05 Evolution MR. Saw that the entire Evo model line will get a bump in power along with the electronic center differential.

My question is this, will the GSR and RS models with the 5spd, get a stronger clutch? Will they also have the 5K rpms launch control rev limiter?

good questions. unfortunately, there's been no hard information to answer those questions yet. if i had to guess, i'd say that (1) the 5-spd tranny and clutch will be unchanged from '04 and (2) the 5-spds will also get the rev limiter.

Good point. If the '05 models do get the rev limiter, then I'm sure the clutch life will be extended. It'd be nice if Mitsu did include a stronger clutch though...

edit: the '05 tranny will have ACD and front LSD...but the clutch will probably be the same as the '04s. "favre95" may be able to check the part numbers in the catalog?

The clutch disc for the 5sp is the same every year. The clutch disc for the 6spd is different.

5spd - mn132206
6spd - mr980945
