mchuang--the reason im trying to do everything without a flash is so people if they want to use this kit dont have to spend extrea money on top of the Map ecu. what you said would deffently work no doubt about it, i just want to see if i can make it work without going that route first, if all fails then ill send it. one reason im not about to jump and do it is because my friend has a mk2 supra with a mk3 engine and it had the same 2 problems the evos has and he hasnt had any problems. so, well jus wait and see how things go in the next week or so. believe me i want the easiest and cheapest way to do mapecu, even if it takes along time to master it to work with the evo problems. i just feel if customers want something they are not going to spend and extra $$$ jus for f/c and rev limiter raised. if they do then it will be easier for them, yes. but, i believe it can be done with out flahing.

this weekend ill beable to get the majority of it finshed, dang wife when she takes the car i never know when ill get it back, shes always joy riden so where.lloll

talon2evo-- I havent forgot about you I'll have everything you need to get it running correctly on your car. do you want Karman Vortex learn mode or Karman Vortex hotwire(this is what youll use to do actual tuneing)? If you want both I can get that to you as well.
Good luck with your setup.

Hmmm.. I'll have to re-read the instructions again to see what's up. I would like to run it in learning mode for a few days to get some type of base map started, & then switch over to tuning mode to get the final map on it.

Don't you just unplug the mass air sensor when you are done with learning mode & tell it to take over in the software when actual tuning is ready?

Thanks for all the help!

well its just the placement of a couple of wires that make it different from the other. if you look in wiring layout youll see it, but ill have it written down for you when i get everything setup.

Your going to have to switch the wires back from learn mode to hotwire mode then youll take the mass air sensor out. then you can start tuning your car.

Since you have spoken up... It would be really nice to get a baseline map for the 2g63 engine, to give us a starting point.. I called MAP-ECU & they don't seem to be all that excited about making maps for anything except supras.

How much for that plug & play?

And finally, an EVO specific wire colors & such to work with would be nice...

It's cool Total D. I just got frustrated that the makers of the map ecu have like 7 or 8 different maps for the Supra, including different turbo's, & injectors, but haven't really messed with anything else out there. They have a potentially superior product to the old HKS VPC, but they just need to provide some more customer support for the other car makes out there.

Looking forward to seeing you'r maps.. I just last night finished installing the 20-g, & intercooler hard pipes. Now the 780cc injectors are sitting on the table, waiting for a way to tune to them.

Like I said before, AL with Dynoflash is comming out here March 4'th & 5'th, to do custom tunes. So I'll 'probably' have him flash the car with the stock MAF in there, & THEN I'll install the map ecu to get the MAF out of the system.... Although it would be kind'a fun to test it out before he gets here too.

I totally understand how you feel. I've been in contact with Map Ecu about it but it looks like alot of the base map area is up to me. i did find out about some other evos running map ecu but they dont have any base maps, they just went for straight tune. Just bare with me I'm working on a map so when future customers buy Map Ecu it will come with a map to get them started. Also I pmd you about the harness lastnight, so let me know what you want to do.

Jeremiah

Cool, as long as you are running a wideband to do the learning mode on. The learn mode though is REALLY REALLY slow. Best way to get your map built in the get it on the dyno. I'm sure you've got that covered though. If you need any help you know how to get ahold of me.

By the way Evom...Total D is getting some MAP-ECU's from me so he will have them in stock/ready to ship. This product does work really well as we've done a few Evo's now but are moving into the re-flash market soon. I'm going to let him do the leg work to really get the MAP-ECU market on it's feet.
