Got some coolness everyone might like. This is a local EVO owners car during a misfire but at WOT. His car is an 03 but he recently swapped to a 05 ecu. Problem still there, guess it's not the cars ecu making the problem but maybe a sensor feeding the ECU information. He said it clears up when he resets the ECU.
Check it out, RPMS break up, AFR goes from 10.5:1 to almost 13:1, timing stays flat, MAF HZ drops, Boost drops, Duty cycle drops.
Guess what other event happens on the evo that does almost the same thing and win a prize.

well knock would retard timing and in your case timing remained constant -- hrmmm. And the rev range isn't high enough for the rev limiter...
i'd guess he hit boost cut. Boost ramped up too high and too fast for the factory ecu and cut fuel and spark?

Can't be fuel cut from too high boost, look at his MAF HZ.

Well i had a buddy here recently that had a problem with his coil pack but it was water related...heh. The car would idle and run fine until some water got on the coils. We just took a water bottle and sprayed the coils and watched the car stumble all over the place.
