Question XEDE, EcuFlash, AEM...etc???

I've noticed that there are many engine management systems that one can choose. I dont have the time to learn and tune my car myself. My friend has the CobbAccessport (wrx) and its really easy to deal with. There are preloaded maps that he can infinitely switch between.

My question is are there any management systems that have the learning curve of the COBB? Id love to have an economy map and a tuned map to do on the fly.

PS i think that it would be cool if someone made a sticky with all the different systems and their abilities and limitations because its difficult for a novice to understand.

I would highly recommend continue reading in this forum -- there is support for each of the mainstream piggyback / flashing systems. Systems that I have used and I thought have a simply learning curve are the ECU+ and Xede.

It all boils down to what you want to do with the car ...if you want a set it and forget it -- get a flash. If you want to constantly tweak your fuel and timing maps get the ECU+ or Xede. If you want something that updates timing and fuel realtime -- i'd say Xede or AMS standalone.

Plenty of information on the forums -- that's just a small part of it. Good luck in your decision and happy reading.

The Vishnu XEDE (pronounced EX-SEED) is probably what you are looking for. It is a piggy back system that has a number of different maps for specific mods from stock to cammed.

I purchased mine the first week I had an EVO and its very easy to work with. You can find them fairly cheap in the FS forum and tech support in the Vishnu forum is very good.

It beats a flash because you can upload different maps multiple times and it wont cost you a dime. It also adds in features like stutter box launches, no lift to shift, and electronic boost control.

Its only a matter of time before the Xede is ready for the 9. In fact most of the supporting xede/9 info is already posted on Vishnus site. No need to rush.
