Thanx, I need something that will hold multiple MAP's...and i've heard of people fine-tuning using ecu+, utec and such while having a custom tune...I was just wondering if the accessport would do the same..So i guess you answered my question!

Nothing is official yet, but we have heard through the grapevine that it will be released before SEMA, and the price should be near the same as the WRX/STi ($649.99).

Our source tells us that the Accessport will not be out until after SEMA sometime between Late Nov and Early Jan. As of now there are no AP's being made until the new one is finished but to our understanding the date has been pushed back.

I don't even think Cobb knows when they are going to release it yet. But I hope sooner then later cause I am dying for on for my car.

I am very excited for Cobb to get into the Evo market. Thier subaru products are some of the best in the world and I am sure it will be the same for the Evo.

I hope they release it at sema so I can ****** one out of the booth and run away with it.

careful there..you can only revert back to the custom map if its an AP map. If his ecu is flashed, once he flashes the cobb maps, his custom tuned map will be over written. So unless he has a tactrix cable and saves the rom, it will be lost if he gets the AP, IIRC, there is no way to copy stock roms into cobb AP format

so do you think COBB will have downloadable stock maps somehow? in case users want to switch to stock?

The WRX AccessPort includes a stock map. You can revert to it easily. There was some debate on NASIOC.COM about whether a stealership could tell by various identifiers in the code whether it was the original factory code or not (believe it had to do with 5 speed vs. auto, but don't quote me on that.) The issue being whether they could deny you warranty coverage on the basis of having once modified your ECU.
But, reverting to stock is easy and maps are included - assume same for EVO.
Looking forward to its release.

Ah, but once the AP is married to his ECU how does it not know that the custom flash isn't the stock one? Doesn't the AP save the existing map, after marrying, and store it as stock to revert back to at a later time? No offense, but I hope you scenario isn't the case.

The Accessport will save whatever is in the ECU whether it is the stock rom or a reflashed Rom from another tuner.

It does not have a generic stock map in there. So when it says reflash to stock it will reflash it back to whatever map you had in there when you flashed it with the AP.

So far it looks like a great product. It's too bad that you need to use the AP software to use the logger. The logging looks a lot nicer than Evoscan.
