Knock sum vs. Knock voltage

Which one should I be more concerned about? (Knock sum or Knock voltage)

I have seen threads that say be concerned about knock voltages of 2.25 or greater. I was logging with an ECU+.

Know that I have done some logging with Evoscan, I see my ECU making octane adjustments at much lower knock voltages, but with knock sums 6 or greater.

I am trying to understand the relationship between these two numbers.

My guess :

Knock sum = frequency of knock
Knock voltage = intensity of knock

just a guess.

Any input is appreciated.
