HKS EVC VI problems

i recently installed a new HKS evc VI(6) on my IX. the problem is that no matter how high i set the boost at. the max reading on the boost controller shows 11.5 psi/ peak hold. i was wondering if anyone you guys have this controller and tell me how to solve this problem.

P.S. the shop that installed it, rechecked the hose and installs. everything is fine.

I Have one try doing a reset as i did several resets and this condition happened several times. also i cannot get mine to stop overboosting about 5ps over setting, ive tryed adjusting with initial setup and correction coefficient but it wont have it. pipework looks ok to but using 5mm pipe on my fq-360

make sure you have the initial setup right, ie the wastegate boost setting is a big factor on how this unit performs.

I am having problems with mine (shuddering boost + spiking) so tonight im going to reset it and change my initial setup... atm ive got stock boost set @ 10.5 psi, and with 18psi target i spike upto about 21psi...

I am going to try setting my initial to 8psi, and if that doesn't work 14psi... :P

yep I set mine to 12.5 (up from 10.7) and now its perfect! no shuddering, and no spiking...

fix the boost problems by adjusting the offset. a higher offset gave me more boost and lower gave me less boost. i guess thats the way u adjust boost on that controller.

nah you shouldn't need to, if you are having problems reset the unit and start again.

as I said the initial setup (where you enter max wastegate boost) is key to this controller working properly.

set it too low and you will have overboosting problems, set it too high and you will never hit your target boost.

initially I had mine set on 10.7 which is the max boost I saw when I drove around without the EBC connected - 10.7 in the EVC caused massive problems, spiking and a clipping affect @ fullboost.

I pushed it upto 14.5 and then I couldn't hit my targets, I was about 2 psi off.

pulled it back to 12.5 and now its perfect, I target 18.0 and the max I get is 18.2..

Bump for this thread.

Some comments:
You can actually do the initial boost setup in the car but the boost will probably be lower than you should set it to. In my case it read 11.2 but 12.5 is what I have it set. Also the default sampling rate of 4 seems to cause some surging which you hear more than you really feel. Setting the sampling rate to 3 seems to help whereas 5 will make it worse.

I posted in another thread but with the NE2K7 Supra Meet rapidly approaching I'd like to get the boost controller working properly.

Ive got the EVC 6 and had to unplug it because the thing just kept beeping and wouldnt stop no matter what. Became quite annoying to say the least.

Well my question is. Has anyone else had this problem? What was the fix? And when you did your initial setup, did you have to make a pull down the road at WOT to find out your max wastegate pressure?

Ive got a Toyota Supra Turbo and there isnt many guys around running this boost controller so I cant get any help from those guys. And not many local South Jersey guys that I know of have it either. I picked it up from Jondemand on this site and have PM'd them a couple times but no reply back from them..

Thanks Guys,

Mike
Now Ive heard that you have to take the car for a spin, Do a pull in WOT at full boost to get your wategate pressure (it supposedly shows you on the screen) but Ive yet to do it because I cant reset the damn controller.

I take it you don't have the manual?

SupraGodTT, I found that even setting the initial boost by doing a pull in the car results in a pressure reading that's too low.

How easy is it to setup with this unit? I was thinking about getting one?
