**350z Guy here Need Help Tuning Apexi AVC-R
hey guys I've asked for help on my forum to no avail so I'm coming over here. Love evos by the way. Anyway I got an Apexi AVC-R unit and It is ridiculously hard to tune. Can anyone give me any advice? My main problems are I'm not hitting my full boost in first or second gear, and i have an automatic so my boost spikes 1-1.5psi when i shift. The gear dependent start duty settings don't seem to be effecting it at all. any input would be greatly appreciated
This unit is now for sale!!! ok for anyone interested i have this boost controller as well as an innovate wideband and defi 60mm amber boost gauge for sale.

that is the link to the for sale thread on the 350z forum with the apexi unit.

any other input would be greatly appreciated as well. I've got it to hit the right boost in 3rd and 4th (peak anyway) but once it peaks it starts to fall off after like 4krpm

if you're hitting full boost before 3000rpm you need to move your NE points lower.
turn the f/b speed and learn gear all that crap off. it's a pain in the *** to mess with. put your start duties back to 0% in all gears.
next thing i found out that helped me the most is GEAR JUDGE in the ETC. menu.
you need to know your top speed in each gear. say you redline at 7000rpm and hit 35 in first 7000/35=200. put 200 in the first block, and so on for all your gears.
that tells the boost controller what gear your in based on the rpm and speed it's seeing.
also make sure your learn gear is all zero'd out. that means it's in learn mode.
now go set the boost you want to hit. and set the duty cycle to a low number, maybe 15-20 to start. and do a 4th gear pull. if it doesn't hit full boost keep upping the percent little by little till you get the desired effects.
now for the fun stuff.
once you get your car to hit the boost you want we're going to put it into learn mode.
when you're on the duty line hit next. you'll see a bar graph with rpm and percents. doesn't matter what rpm bar you jump to, hit the up arrow to move one of up them up 1%. hit back and your duty % should be *** that's learn mode.
now it should hit that boost no matter what gear you're in. if it still hits low in first and second go to your start duty and up those ones in first and second.
it's a complicated controller but once you get it down it's cake.
***edit: this is for educational use only! i'm not responsible if you blow your car up!***
