Load vs. Load ???
I'm just curious, and im not really sure what to search for but....
In the AEM EMS and most other systems, load is given in percentages from somewhere in the neg's like lets say -15 all the way up to 35 or so on the axis, with RPM on the other...
With our ECU's, it is given in numbers ranging from 0 to 260 - 300 or so.
What is the relationship between these 2 different representations of load if there is a relationship ? Does anyone have some sort of way to determine which values in ecuflash are equivalent to which values in the EMS tables.
Thanks

The AEM's axis is not arbitrary load like the stock ECU. It's manifold absolute pressure, as measured by the map sensor. The -15 is vaccum the higher numbers are the amount of boost measured by the map sensor.
If you had the JDM map sensor you could directly compare the two but the break points are not going to align perfectly.

thanks for the response, that part i knew already.... im just curious to see if there is some sort of way to make those values comparable to the ones in the ecu. I keep getting asked the question, how does the ecu determine which load cell you are at and what does the load represent. i have no idea, i just know what adjustments do what, and what i need to do to tune. I'd like to know a little bit of background on everything and see what i can learn.

The basic answer is that the ECU uses the MAF sensor to determine load. I know it's more complex than that but I dont know what formula and what other sensors it takes into account.
Load is basically airflow.
They can be loosely translated based on 2byteload readings converted to PSI which could be compared to map sensor readings and then compared to AEM map sensor readings.
