two mods = lean afr

I added a o2 dump and a perrin intake and I think my afr has leaned out to damn near 11.8-12.0

I was running low 11's high 10's.

I've been staying out of the gas.. I noticed this pretty much right after the intake install. Didn't notice to much afr change with the dump.

I turned boost down, but still kind of lean to me. I'm kind of scared to even log a pull.

Can this perrin intake make that much difference in afr? Previously I had stock intake maf pipe with apexi filter.

this kind of scares me, because i used to run the same set up as you except hks filter, and i just put on the hks pipe and havent had a wideband hooked up since then, and when i started taking my car apart when i put it in the garage, i kind of thought i had white smoke coming out of the exhaust, but i talked myself into it being fog from the cold

the intake will make a big difference. Put the stock one. Or get the flashed.

11.8 -12.0 sounds great just adjust timing to suit and you should be good to go. This is the ratio we usually tune for

I do not think so. Especially if he/she can not tune the car. Is this on 93 Octane? On C-16 this would be fine with the proper tuning, but i would never recommend that kind of a/f to anyone running pump gas alone. You might as well tell him to drain the oil out of the car and floor it.

Get the tune fixed up...A little fuel/timing here and there and you are good to go. Do not listen to anyone. That is a lean air fuel for pump gas, anyone will tell you that.

PM me and i will get you where you need to be.

The filter made it leaner! The 02 dump does not change a/f. But evo8604 is right you need to get a tune!!

I've run that lean before but I also tuned all the knock completely out of the map via timing. I honestly wouldn't recommend it for a daily driven car though, as variables from things like air temperature or even the quality of gas at the pump can take something that's on the edge of safe to very dangerous in a matter of seconds. Richer is safer, and while you're at it you might consider adjusting your throttle crossover points too, as factory settings seem to keep things lean at the crossover point up until a certain throttle percentage regardless of boost pressure.

what gear are you getting those afrs? If its 3rd then you are still safe on 93 at your elevation. 4th will richen up to just about 11.3. I have had mine on 91 pump **** @ 12.0 in 3rd and 22psi with no problems. If you are still uncertain use wideband and get 3rd gear afrs to 11.6-11.5 4th will rechen up to just about 11.1-10.9. Now this is what I have seen on my car and many others.

I'd be happy it leaned out, that means your mods actually made the motor flow more air. Just get a re-tune and you should net some power.
