MBC vs ECU

Hi all,

I know a lot of people go the route of fitting an MBC, but traditionally on other cars I've always adjusted the boost with the ECU. Is there any reason that can't be done with an EvoIX? Do people fit the MBC simply because it's cheaper, and generally easier/quicker to adjust for people without the ability to modify maps quickly?

Thanks for the clarification!

great deal of boost tuning information available in the ecuflash forum.

the mbc may be easier but the capabilities of a flashed ecu boost control are pretty significant.

If you have a laptop and like to fiddle there is a whole world of tuning possible. otherwise, a number of tuners work the ecu

Hey guys - thanks for the response! I agree - ECU controlled boost would be better... With so many people talking about MBC's I was starting to think the ECU on the EvoIX couldn't control the boost!

Thanks!
