instal MBC now car runs bad!!!help plz!!
Hello, I just bought a 2005 MR and I already jacked it up. I was told the car was stock except a TBE but I am assuming it has been tuned.. Acting like a child I have eagerly installed a MBC and evo 9 BOV. Now I have a check engine light, and the car is not running right.
Boost use to go around 1 bar- 1.5. Now it is not going over .5. In 3rd when I push down on the gas the engine does not respond it seems.I have to back off a bit for the engine to start working again.
When I installed the MBC I kept the solenoid connected to the harness. The tubing is smaller then the stock for the MBC andIi am assuming this is a problem, and also I pulled out the wire harness on the intake a little and had to shove it back in. This I assume might be causing the light.
SO what I am hoping to find is if the car was tuned for parts not on the car anymore. And why I have the light, as well as whats wrong with my boost!!!
I have evoscan and ecu flash but do not know if its set up right.
I know I have done the ultimate noob move and messed with the car prior to being able to deal with problems but I am praying this is a slight set back.
Help a brother out and help me grow to understand this creature!!!

well that could be a few things wrong...whats the code on the check engine light first???
When you installed the mbc did you ess with it to get it to stock boost?? when installing an mbc you have to mess with it by doing a cpl of pulls so you can bring it to stock boost. Most of the vacuum hoses are 1/4'' so thats what you need. If you messed with the mass flow sensor and the car runs good, then that could be the problem, they do go bad sometimes.
btw i always tell everyone install the boost controller at the tunning shop or when you are about to tune the car, so its easy to turn the boost as you mess with air/fuel trims.
