p0340 and p0335 codes

p0340 and p0335 codes
I just bought an EVO viii from a dealership that came with a few hidden check engine lights, luckily i gots warranty. One code is for camshaft position sensor "A"circuit bank 1, and the other is crankshaft position sensor. What I want to know is what causes those codes to come up?
