Exclamation Loopy idle after cam install

Hi,

i installed jun 264 cams , the idle is loopy .[which was expected ]

I tried adding fuel at the idle rpms and load cells in hi and low octane fuel maps but the ecu still hunts for 14.7 and hovers around 14.7 to 16 after running 13.5 afr for 5 seconds. There is a table named OPEN LOOP TPS vs RPM which helps in idle stability in evo 9 but sadly i cant any such table in my evo8 rom. the rom is 93660005.

Does any one know which table should be added or altered to stabilize the idle and AFRs ? do i have to go open loop at the idle rpm and loads to make it stabilize , if yes then how ?

Need your help.
Thanks

running 9 degrees of timing till 1500 rpm and upto 40 load. still no luck.
As soon as the AFR gets lean idle gets loopy.

Waiting for John

I run 15-20* at idle on those cams, turn the O2 off and richen it to a 13.0 at idle. Then play with the BISS screw to get a 1000rpm idle. One other thing is to doublecheck your TPS and make sure it is 13.3%-14.5%, 13.3 is preferred.

Turning O2 off means u want me to run open loop??

If i change the values 500 - 1000 rpm cells of open loop load # 1 and #2 to -9.5
So the open loop will operate for these rpm ranges above -9.5 load ?

Similarly if i change the throttle low and hi load 500 - 1000 rpm cells to 0 from 1.62 will this bring in the open loop for that rpm range ? or on the load 1 and 2 tables will do the job?

What temp should i put in for min coolant temp for closed loop ?

Which condition does the ecu responds to first ? the load tables or the min temp ?

yeah I normally set the load and TPS open loop to 10% and then rescale the 1000rpm to 1250. Min temp for closed loop I normally set to 65* C It responds to the load threshold tables first.

What value should i put in Open loop throttle lo load and hi load tables ? its currently 1.62 at 500 - 1000 . should i set it to 0 ?

If this is an Evo 8 or down, 0.51v is what you will want.

JB,
do you normally set up most cams in the same manner? 13.0, >12deg at idle? S2s here and wondering if I need to stop targeting 14.7 at idle.

John I tried to set up the load 1 and 2 tables to 10% at 500- 1250 rpm
with throttle low and hi load at 0.51v for the same rpm.

The car stayed at 13.5 afr for longer period but as the temp crossed 70 C it again started hunting 14.7 and if i press the throttle more at idle the car leans out to 15-16 even 17 some times. Tried increasing the timing with afr at 14.7 the afr dropped to 15-16.

Then i started to fiddle with ISCV tables bt the went to 1500 rpm. so changed it back to stock settings . However i noticed whenever i turn on the AC the car idles just fine and doesnt putter.

Any further suggestions ?

Do i need to alter air temp and coolant temp compensations also accel enrichment to get it idling close to stock ?
