The fact that there was no 2007 model year evolutions makes covering up the story that there won't be 2009s convincing. I think its a ploy to sell the remaining 2008s that are collecting dust at the dealership.

They are making the 2009 model but not bringing it to the US market. We will have to wait till 2010, you are more than welcome to call Mitsubishi North America to verify the information.

I heard that chevy wasn't doing the big motor in the SS anymore for the new camaro. They are just putting the the 3.6L 296hp V-6. They got rid of the 400hp+ 6.2L V-8. I went to a Chev dealer the other day cause my uncle is buying either the Challenger or the Camaro in march. We talked to there GM and I can't remember if he said that they were still doing the SS but with a smaller engine which would suck and be a waste. Let me know if I'm wrong.

I just heard that they will not be making the 2009 Evo X.
They plan to skip the year and come out with the 2010 Model. That car will start taking orders in july to be release sept or october.
We plan to purchase as many evo x from factory as possible. This will be a hard 12 months not having enough cars.
Not a nice smash

CONFIRMED - No 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions coming to the U.S.!
We confirmed yesterday through contacts at Mitsubishi Motors North America that there will be no '09 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions for the U.S. We will see the, essentially unchanged, 2010 Evos around September/October of 2009.
Just like the missing 2007 Lancer Evolutions, we will be skipping another model year here in the U.S. Back in 2007 it was due to crash standards that the car couldn't meet for 2007 without considerable changes and cost to the Evolution line which was first imported to the U.S. in 2003.
With only one model year before the new 2008 Evolution X was coming out it didn't make financial sense. For 2009 it's due to economic reasons. While the Evo is selling well here in Southern California and Evo sales "were up almost 600% in November compared to November 2007 and are up 43.6% year-to-date", the economy has the too many 2008's available on many dealer lots throughout the rest of the United States.
