Buying an RRM intercolled turbo kit....

I have a 2005 Lancer ES MT and I was wondering if I just get the turbo kit would my car run fine? I already have a manaflow catback exhaust and aem cold air intake and I plan on purchasing the road race stage 2 clutch and pressure plate at the same time as the turbo. What else should I get if any thing so that my car would run fine? ~LT05

It should be fine if installed correctly and you don't turn the psi up.

keep the psi low without forged internals and make sure you have proper fuel upgrades. keep it 7 and below if intercooled and 5 if non intercooled

your fine, get the intercooled kit, scrap your aem cold air intake seeing as though it will be obsolete, install, drive. i would suggest getting the header while your at it becuase its a lot of work to put it on later. it's also one of the biggest factors that will allow you to turn the boost up to 7 psi.

cool, but i wouldn't want to if i could just do it from the start. just trying to make things easier, and if he has money to toss on clutch and stuff why not either get the header or wait a little longer and get it?

hey thanks for all of the info guys. this is exactly what I need to make my decision. I was a little scared to put a turbo on my car because of the fear that I would destroy my engine....but I guess if I just keep it calm with the psi I should be ok....thanks again

Exclamation

I'd hate to burst your bubble and all, but the RRM kit will NOT work on the 2004+ Lancer's. The '04+ Lancer went to a returnless fuel system which is not handled by the RRM turbo kit. Unless they figured it out and haven't told anyone, you can't get their kit. If you look through the Forced Induction threads, you can find a post about boosting a 2004 OZ, and see what he did to get his car turbocharged.
