Turbo kit vs. Custom kit
#20
How custom are we talkin? You want to make your own intercooler piping, manifold, oil lines too?
Off the top of my head:
Intercooler
IC Piping
Turbo
Manifold
Couplers
Clamps
Fuel Pump
Begi Rising Rate Regulator or a AEM FPR and a fuel tuner like the SAFC
Boost Gauge
Boost Controller
Waste Gate if External
Vacuum Lines
Down Pipe
Dump Tube (if External)
Oil Feed
Oil Return
If I missed anything Sorry. If you plan to make your own Intercooler piping you will just need to buy 90"s which we sell for 17.00 each you just have to cut them to fit. If you want to make your own downpipe you will need a Flange or Flanges, Flexpipe and tubing, decent welding skill. If you plan to make your own manifold you will need a manifold flange, a turbo flange, a wastegate flange, t's and 90's or tubing for a turbo header and an experianced tig welder. A 2.5" exhaust wouldnt hurt either.

Also the turbo we used for Damions Lancer was the stock T-25 off of a Nissan SR20DET which was also another shop car. He put down 252 WHP at 15 PSI with that turbo. The main reason we used that turbo is because it was free. Chris was upgrading but in retrospect I believe we made a good choice regaurdless of cost. The turbo is small and fits in the engine bay without relocating anything. It spools up fast and will make more than enough power for a stock 4G94 motor.

Is the stock T-25 off of a Nissan SR20DET any different from the t 25 off of a 2G eclipse? Nice numbers by the way. How were you able to run 15 psi? upgraded internals or race gas? and what type of fuel mods?

you should know that there is more than one version of each. spend some time with google. i'm sure everyone in this thread knows how to use google, right?
t25, gt25r
t28, gt28r, gt28rs, big t28
20g, bastard 20g
t3, t3 super 60, t3/t04e
...
..
.
etc. etc. etc.
then with MHI you have the td05 or td06 housing. garrett turbos have the t25 or t3 turbine housings/flanges. then you've got bastardized/hybrid turbos.
this subject is much beyond most would want to post unless they got the time and feel like schooling you folks. google.
