Rob also stated that his ECU will only work with his kit (or atleast he will only sell it to people with his kit) so if you start changing parts out be careful. I dont want to see another blown engine thread Stew.

I seriously doubt the ECU reflash will be able to comprehend where all the compressed air is going if you were to vent to atmosphere.

It wouldn't..you are gonna need a S-AFC to combat that problem. I would just plumb it. The venting may sound cool but you are really just hindering performance.

Imma run it with an HKS turbo timer, for now...think I'll still need the SAFC? I was hoping to wait for the Gen III Profec or get the new eManage from Japan (GUI is in Japanese only). Ideas?

unless U plan to upgrade your internals don't bother with an SAFC, it's not gonna help one bit.(you'll blow that motor before you need any of that)

The turbo timer has nothing to do with your AFR. It basically just cycles your oil to allow proper cool down.

As for the usefulness of the AFC...well... Certainly not my first choice, but it could help you tune your AFR's.

What turbos are available and viable after the t-28? I heard you can go GT-28 next...is that true? What about bigger turbos? Will the fit the RRM Kit or will you need new piping.

Just trying to have a little foresight as I'm sure Boe and many other turbo Lancers will be asking this question soon. And I want to see what path I can take after the t-28 isn't satisfactory anymore.
Are you taking notes on this stuff. Or was this just an ultra-***** manuever?

HUH? Do you mean the BOV....the t28 has an internal wastegate.

The wastegate releases exhaust gas building up in the turbo. an improperly ported internal wastegate passage could lead to major 'boost creep' where boost rises uncontrolably as rpm's climb.

An external wastegate is the same thing, but you hafta weld your internal flapper so that boost rises and an aftermarket ex. wastegate would relieve that pressure. it would probably mount where there's boost... i.e. exhaust manifold

A t-25's threshold is only up to 10-13psi. It can boost higher, but you're just blowing hot air. I upgraded my t-25 on my gsx to a Big t28 Killer, which is essentially a Big16g but bolton for a 2g eclipse. It can hold up to 22-25 psi.

I wouldnt advise boosting higher unless you did the proper fuel / internal workings of your engine, or it could be pretty bad...

Mobius, the RRM kit I saw has an external Tial 38mm wastegate. They discontinued the 35. I know you can pipe it back into the exhuast, but I don't want to mess with my new downpipe(when I get the kit) I would prefer to have an internal wastegate but from what I see there's no kit with one especially since I have a RRM header.
