Noob doing a custom 16g kit
Just like the title says, I'm a noob doing a custom 16g kit.
To say i really don't know much, but the basic stuff its not that hard.
I have a 04 ES auto. Haven't seen to many custom 04 kits, but now i know why.
Here's what i have so far:
stock evo8 turbo
stock evo8 hotside
stock evo8 wastegate actuator
boost controller
stock evo manifold
4g94 flange
This is where the problem comes in. What to do about the fuel system, since the 04 have a returnless fuel system. I know about RRM 5th injector and piggyback, but that will cost 850. Are there anymore options i can do that won't cost 850. Let's work to make this thread stickie, cause there are no threads about custom 04+ kits. I need some help.

You're off to a good start! In terms of the returnless fuel system, my thoughts are to start with a low amount of boost to see what the stock injectors can handle. They should be good for at least 5-7psi. Beyond that you will just need bigger injectors and tune with some form of engine management. I feel that you will gain a substantial amount of HP and TQ from 5-7psi with the stock injectors and be satisfied with the results.

I told you via PM, but you should stop where you are and read. Read a LOT. Read the forums for specifics and buy a book or two on custom turbocharging for general info. If you can find tips on EFI tuning with whatever engine management you plan on using, read that too. And learn as much as you can about fuel. Fuel delivery and AFRs are the single most important thing you need to know.

This is true. I never thought that i would run into a problem like this. In my mind i was just going to follow the list of items that everyone else bought. After that i was going to get a tune and everything would have been fine. But to find out that my few system is different and i can't use the same instruments that they use, just made things worst.
Also i read alot of threads on here and people have so many different opinions on the same thing. Like if i find something that i think is good, someone else finds it different.
I can handle the rest of the project, I just wish that i can find a reliable fueling system that i can use for my car.
But yeah ima do alot more reading, and its cool because i'm actually learning something. I actually learned how to change my oil on this site.

Update on my progess with the custom kit.
I've been at school so it's a little slow right now. I just purchased my oil line kit and a intercooler with the complete piping. Next week i hope to be getting my 5th injector setup from RRM.

You should go with the Forge Wastgate actuator, then you can order the smallest spring they have. You won't be able to run 7lbs of boost with the stock actuator. You can turn up the boost, but not down.

I just joined this forum. I have very similar plans for my 01 mirage. Our engines are very similar. My plans for fuel are to run 450cc inj (rx7), walbro 255, greddy emanage.
MK3 is right about the mani. I plan on useing either a Megan or dc mani. Just have to cut off the bolt holes the weld the two flanges together.
