Using a stock evo manifold?

I have a stock evo manifold laying around and a 4g94 flange.

the flange is SS and the manifold is cast iron, I dont know to much about welding, but can these 2 metals be welded together? Ide rather use a cast manifold than a tubeular one anways.

Or can you just drill some holes in the stock evo manifold to get it to bolt up?

No sir, you cannot. If you tried, you may get it to somewhat stick together, but it would fall apart.

stock evo manifold could work but not with a SS flange and probably not for long as speed corps pointed out. Welding metals should be same materials. best bet is go get a tubular SS manifold such as a Megan and then weld on the 4g94 flange to it (runners will need to be moved)...

Yup. I am actually in the middle of cutting apart a megan manifold. It's a little tricky since the tubes run inside the flange. You don't need a stainless steel flange. You can weld stainless to mild steel with no problems. The mild steel flanges are easier to find and cheaper.

Yeah, I was just wanting to keep the cast for strength and the use of the heat sheild

My friend just did this same thing for his ls1 rx7. mustang headers bolted onto the ls1. He had to cut off flange and move the runners to fit inside the new flange. Then welded on the inside of the flange, not the outside....

What if you cut the flange off the stock Evo manifold and cut the flange off the stock 4G94 manifold and weld them together? Isn't the stock lancer manifold cast iron too?

Yes but welding cast iron is a bicth. It wouldn't be strong. You can weld cracks and stuff but to weld the whole thing together, I don't think it would be structuraly sound. I think it would be such a pain to cut the flanges off too.
