gasket question

Ive got a leak on the wategate to the wastegate dump tube.

Does this have a major effect on anything with how the car runs? Or any effect on the car at all?

Also, can i use high temp silicon gasket stuff ( i think its RTV ?) instead of a gasket?

I don't think so. The dump tube just vents the exhaust to the atmosphere. You should be fine but someone correct me if I am wrong. And, ya a little sealant stuff should do the trick.

it might be a bit loud but I can't see it blowing your motor or anything like that.

Sorry, let me clearify. It't the gasket from the manifold to the wastegate. Not the wastegate to the dump tube.

I don't know if that will change anything though. Ill grab some of that silicone stuff. Hopefully it doesn't surpass 600*C.

Yes! that will cause issues! Don't use RTV, I'm pretty sure the manifold temp will exceed that of that the threshold of the RTV. Make sure both surfaces are flat/flush, then add a new gasket. There are copper gaskets as well that might help you out in this situation...

where do i get one? aside from RRM. It would be such a waste of money to ship it unless they send it to me in a letter.

These are somewhat new, but knowing the sealing properties of copper...definitely something to look at.

BTW, does your WG have a "fire ring"? It'll need this gasket...

Yeah, not all Tials have the fire ring...that copper gasket should work great.
