^ & ^^, correct on both counts. The BOV prolongs the life of the turbo...it's basically a by-pass to allow the "excess" air to escape quickly since you let off the throttle (or close the butterfly). Keeps the system from having compressor surge.

If you want to protect your investment(turbo), you need a BOV.
If you have unlimited amounts of cash lying around then it doesn't matter.
But some would say get a BOV anyway and filter some of that cash to us less fortunate people..

So that means we wont get the "psshh" sound at every gear change right? unless you mess with the ecu and force the BOV to "pshhh" when you change your virtual gears? (I really don't care for the sound, just confirming what i think I know)

it seems so, or when your using the paddles take your foot off the gas then shift then slam it back on like your using a "clutch" then it will at every gear. but dont forget then you need to spool up each time. the cvt is good cuz you dont need to in each gear
