Mynes Turbo Lancer ES (2006) - Stock ECU

We just completed the Lancer Project for a customer. We tuned his stock NA Lancer about 9 months ago and got him in the 112whp area, but in December, he returned and asked us to do a custom turbo kit and we said OK.

Five weeks later, this is the final result (all work was done in-house at our shop).
- Garret GT28RS turbo running 10 psi
- Mynes tubular manifold
- Tial 44mm BOV
- HKS SSQV with Mynes Intercooler & piping kit
- Mynes custom fuel system with return, FPR & fuel gauge, upgraded injectors
- Mynes Custom Tune on the stock ECU (NO Piggyback!!!)
- car pushing 180whp on our Mustang Dyno

We've build quite a few evos, but building this lancer was a lot of fun... had to figure out a lot of the fuel and injector stuff, but it's a very good system. Enjoy

NOTE: the cost of building this kit, fuel system & other mods far exceeds the cost of a RRM's kit... so if you are looking for a 'less expensive' alternative, sorry, this kit not meant for you. And no, we do NOT have this kit for shipping out... if you want this setup, your car has to be at our shop

Here are some build pics:

D@mn that manifold is sexy! If not else, ever thought of producing just the manifold? Maybe making it flanged to accept a used Evo turbo?

Very well done kit. Simple and effective. You can tell the time taken to complete the work by the quality.

looks pretty sweet!
180hp sounds a little low though

any plans to upgrade the internals and get more power out of it?

yeah, our MD reads kinda low and there are certain limitations to the stock ecu since it was designed for a NA engine.

Customer wants to put MoTeC ecu along with internals... probably sometime in the next month or two... For now, he's having some fun beating up hondas & acuras (three so far)

if there's demand for it, we'll be happy to produce the manifold for those who are interested.

We thought about using an evo 16g turbo in the beginning (since we have tons of them around the shop), but after much thought, we decided against it for the following reasons:
- the GT28RS spools much quicker than the evo turbo
- pipes for wastegate and other parts are easier to fabricate using a 'standalone' turbo
- redline is at 6000rpm for this single-cam 2.0, so we want to harness all the low-end as possible
- plus it has a better 'cool' factor

If we were to sell the manifolds, it's going to cost around $600 each b/c the material we used (1.25" SS304/Schedule 40 pipes) is the same as the ones for the Evo SR manifolds being sold here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=303683

And of course, it comes with the Mynes Warranty against cracking and defects

the install was the easiest part, the hardest part was figuring out the fuel system (converting it from the factory "return-less" system to a normal "return-system" in order to maintain a constant fuel pressure. we didn't like the idea of using a 5th injector before the intake manifold b/c of potentially uneven fuel distribution in all the cylinders...

The x-mas holidays really screwed up the delivery as well due to holidays and screwed up UPS/FedEx schedules.

Knowing what we know, we can probably get eveything done in about two weeks.

Even though it's a mustang dyno which reads low numbers, for 10 psi it seems low.

BTW: If you think this is a sexy manifold then check out mine.
Mine is Element Turbo Manifold: http://www.turboelements.com/index.p...d&productId=13

Don't mind the dirty engine bay, these are old pics, lol.

Both manifolds look pretty good. Just curious where the wastegate would go on either of these two manifold?

both have them on the passenger side at the collector. Dont know why they used a external wastegate for a gt28rs and running low boost. Kind of a waste of $300+.

ok sounds good to me, I ended up going with an external gate just for the future. I didnt pay $300 for a wastegate though. Only paid a fraction of that thank to my sponsor at the time. Does anyone know if the flange going to the turbo is a t25 flange? I would assume it is because of the turbo they are using on that setup.
