turbo mirages uses synthetic oil but lancers dont?

I did a few search and found a member pretty much messed up his internals due to the syntetic oil. How does that play in as a factor?

The debate between synthetic and non-synthetic is basically just opinion. I've yet to see any proof or any real logic behind why turboed lancers hate synthetic oil even when it's rated appropriately. Only thing I could think of is the oil pump may not be able to circulate thin oil properly.

hahah mirage4g93t and i had an argument about this. it seemed that dino burned much quicker than the synthetic. he told me to switch over but rrm recommends not too and i showed him this thread:

Break in after fresh rebuild, use dino oil and flush @ 50 miles, 300, & 1000. Then after that, use whatever. So many turbo Civic owners use full syn w/o issue...it's just a personal preference.

the oil pump is the object in question. As per Roadrace. I dont question cuz i'd rather not blow.

Plus there's no reason to run synthetic anyways.

Im not really sure what the big problem seems to be with running synthetic oil on a turbo car. I have been running royal purple 20w50 in my car for some time now and have yet to have a problem *KNOCK ON WOOD* I have yet to really see any solid proof that would make me think otherwise!!!!

I always used synthetic in my old Lancer. I never had a problem with it.

They even said that when the first turbo kits were new.

Why are you guys using such a heavy oil 20W50 for daily driving? Synthetic oil can be had in recommended oil weights.

yup. i know 3 other rrm turbo lancers. 1 non intercooled t28, and 2 intercooled 16g kits. they all used synthetic oil. they never had an oil light come on as well and 2 of them have been boosted 50k+ miles.
