ok.. so just did some reading online to try and make myself understand..

i already knew 14.7 is atmospheric pressure, so "0" on the boost gauge is just that. right? sooo with my gauge anything under "0" is measured in Hg? and the reason it only goes to -14 is because you cant go any lower than -14.7? ok now im just confusing the hell out of myself as im typing this and i doubt it makes much since.. should have paid more attention in school... .

ill just get my dad to attempt to explain it to me when he gets up., but if you guys know where i was goin with this help me out if you can

Ok. You've got the idea of atmospheric pressure and the "0" on a boost gauge. When people refer to running 1 bar or 2 bar of boost, they are running that many times over the standard atmospheric pressure. So 1 bar = 14.7psi of boost and 2 bar = 25.4psi of boost.

All vacuum is measured in the same reading - "in/Hg". So you should be running no less than -18 in/Hg as per Mitsu specs. You may have a faulty gauge or you may have a vacuum leak. But either way you should acquire a gauge with a more robust range of values if you are concerned with vacuum readings at idle.

ok thanks.

well i know the gauge isnt broken, thats just as low as it goes and the specs say so as well.

im not sure why it only goes to 14, cuz they make other gauges that arent diggital that go to -30.. not sure. but anyway dont really care as long as my cars running ok and the +psi reads right when i boost. just thought it was weird that im reading so low. but then again im getting like 4miles to the gallon right now with my 255 pump, 440cc injectors and no tune. so all that will change after next weeks tune

There's no need for the FMU if you're gonna tune with EcuFlash. Also, are you running stock injectors and a stock fuel pump?

Then you definitely do not need the FMU.

Okay I feel dumb now. So the two black tube things on the crash bar aren't the airbag sensors?

No. They are referred to in the parts catalog as "chassis frame dampers". They probably are meant to be mild crash absorbers or something.

oh well that makes me feel a little better doing work in that area. For some reason I am TERRIFIED of tripping my airbag sensors tinkering with something underneath the car.

TheShortBus-Could you give me a BALLPARK amount for what this has cost you? Thats if you don't mind me asking.

yeah thats cool no biggi.

well first off a guy on the forums hooked me up withe everything i needed for the turbo set up. for about 1800 shipped (over 100 of that was shipping)

and thats a really good deal considering he already had the manifold made for it, and the evo down pipe fabed up to fit as well.

then i spent about 250 on some prosport gauges.

and im gettin it profishinally tuned next wed. they are charging me 140 an hour and said it will take about 2 hours.

alot of people just still stick with the stock front bumper, but i dont see a point in having that huge evo intercooler with only 4inches of it getting most of the airflow, so i just got an rmr type 1 lip so my fmic can breath more for 220

there are some other really great 16g build threads on here as well, and some of them have the prices of what they spent on everything too
